SPARE PARTS

AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL MACHINES

HISTORY

December 30th, 1943: on this date E.R.M.A. S.n.c. was founded by Mr Pio Martini, manager of Fiat-Oci, as Italian partnership.

Modena, Mr Pio Martini receiving an award from the President of the Chamber of Commerce for distinguished service in the industry ( year 1968 )

It all began in a small 80 sqm store and a workshop where tractors were repaired and spare parts manufactured.

During the first 20 years the company gradually expanded, becoming well known on the domestic market and increasing its range of spare parts commonly used by famous manufacturers such as Fiat, Caterpillar, Ansaldo etc.

The first contacts with Mr Bertoni, the present Managing Director of Berco SpA, date back to that period. At that time, in fact, Mr Bertoni, was still a student at the Fermo Corni technical school in Modena. He would drop into the shop to collect the spare parts ordered by his father, owner of a building firm.

From 1960 to 1975 E.R.M.A. S.n.c. widened its range of items and thanks also to the company’s participation at international exhibitions, soon began trading on the markets of Western Europe, in particular on the French market selling spare parts for Richard-Continental crawlers.
